  001.   i will not tolerate people who glorify & romanticize rape, pedophilia, incest, and bestiality.i do not interact with self proclaimed "proshippers" or "antis". if you believe this is me being ~unable to differentiate fiction from reality~ then i invite you to grow the fuck up.  002.   i will not rp with minors. much love but i'd rather keep both myself and you (potential minor reading this) safe. i tend to stay in the 21+ range but this is a t rated game so i'm more flexible towards 18+i come from writing on tumblr and discord, so the amount i write when i really get into it is... a lot, to say the least. don't feel the need to match length but i might lose interest if i get a single sentence in response.i may be open to exchanging discords.

  003.   i am not here to ship, or erp.that said, i am not opposed to building romantic relationships and work based on chemistry.  004.   i understand any hesitancy about writing with such a powerful character such as altan. (and am deeply aware of how almost gary stu he is.) but i don't wish to downplay his strength, seeing as he's half dragon i would find that a disservice to his struggles. i try to avoid situations where this might be any sort of problem for the plot.generally on a power scale i have him on mid-high power. not the power of a wol or first brood, but nothing to sneeze at either.that said, as a means of balance, his dravanian heritage is mostly untapped as he is entirely unaware of it.

  005.   in regards to lore adherence: i'd like to believe i'm adherent to the lore, though i can never tell what other's frame of reference might be. so to further explain how altan is half dragon, he and his brother were each given half of one of embla's eyes, and were conceived by combining aether.i personally feel this could be possible under certain circumstances given how little we Really know of dravanian biology, but if you don't agree then that's fine and we can both move on with our lives.  006.   any art of altan here will be done by my own hand. i believe everyone is capable of art, if you have 20 minutes to write the perfect ai prompt, then you have 20 minutes to draw. HISTORY.

ALTAN NIR WAS BORN AS E[H]SK T[A]HI TO EMBLA OF RATATOSKR'S BROOD AND FRÊNE DESCHAMPS, A PEASANT OF ISHGARD, with his twin brother Os[h]k E[h]sk. Exhausted by the war, Embla first met Frêne when he was hunting for food during winter, slowly and surely they fell in love. Of this union came Altan and Venance, both half man, half dragon.Neighbors alerted the Inquisitors that Frêne was a heretic, unaware of his involvement with a dragon, simply for want of his land. As such, Embla and Frêne fled, each with one of the twins for higher chance of survival. With the Inquisitors quickly catching up to Frêne, he stumbled upon a Xaela settlement and left him in their care, then used himself as bait to draw the Inquisitors away.The Nirs, formerly of the Oronirs of the Steppe, had separated from their ancestral name many decades ago, claiming the name of Nir instead and traversing Eorzea in hopes of a new home. This nation further splintered when they had separated, unawares to the dangers of traveling too close to Ishgardian territory. The Nirs, however, had settled in the Dravanian highlands, betwixt Coerthan soil and Dravanian territory, tucked up 'gainst the mountainous heights and Coerthan snow. As such, they were left well enough alone, making trade with the Gnath and Tailfeather alike. The Dravanians, as well, seemed content to ignore their small presence.Altan grew up in the care of these nomadic Xaela, unaware of the tragedy surrounding his birth, and the nature of his existence. Under the care of his adoptive father, Enkh Nir, Altan excelled at hunting with bow and arrow, and later with leatherwork and curing meats. He'd made many furs and leather-made clothes for the Nirs in exchange for their kindness of taking him in.

THE TIME WOULD COME WHEN ALTAN'S WANDERLUST BEGAN TO CONSUME HIM. His adoptive family were at last successful in having children of their own, and in so doing, Altan was aware the duties of leadership would fall to his younger brother Baatar. He did not hold it against him, of course, as he never enjoyed the prospect of being a leader, perfectly comfortable in following. After teaching his brother all he knew, he bid his people farewell and took off to explore the world.With such a vast world at his disposal, Altan started first in the nearest citystate of Ishgard, but was swiftly met with aggression. As such, he was quick to leave and instead left for Gridania, where he would offer his skills. After picking up the spear, Altan moved on from Gridania for Ul'dah. Here, he was tutored by gladiator and temporary lover, Alfor, though this arrangement didn't last for long before Altan traveled next to Limsa Lominsa. Not one for staying overlong in one place, Altan picked up varying skills and small jobs before he started to make something of a name for himself. Known as simply The Wanderer by growing groups, he would join struggling hunting parties, offer his strength, then quickly leave.This would last until what awoken within his soul - the blessing of light. Oh, he had suffered the Echo since as far as he could recall, but this was something new, something foreign wedging itself into his soul. He knew not what to do with this, though he had heard stories cropping up of Warriors of Light one and all, together and alone. He wanted nothing to do with this — he was no hero, he knew that for certain. There was far too much responsibility that came with such titles, after all, and so he did what he always did: he ran.And then... 'all was but a blank slate for five years hence. When next he was aware, the calamity passed, and he had little recollection of it. There were bits and pieces, all parts of a puzzle but nothing substantial, so he picked up where he left off, and he never stopped running.

  1. Paladin's Oath — Though not sworn to any one nation, Altan swore an oath long ago to serve and protect those weaker than he. He seeks not fame nor glory, and tends to see his presence in the world an act of service.

  2. Transfiguration — Altan has the ability to transfigure into a draconic form, taking on the appearance similar to a Diresaur or one of Nidhogg's commanders. He can only do this for so long as it is incredibly draining on his aether. He is unaware of this ability at present, and will not be transfiguring any time soon.

  1. Adaptation — Raised amongst Xaela, Altan evolved as a dragon does to match his surrounding, taking on the similar appearance of a Xaela. Though he shares their appearance, his scale shape and the presence of pointed ears shows there is more to him than meets the eye.

  2. Draconic Bloodline — Altan's mother was a dragon, and with it his right eye is that of a dragon's. His aether is far closer in resemblance to a dravanian's than a man's.

ALTAN HAS NO NEED TO STOP RUNNING. As luck would have it, the call never reached him, and he continued to hunt as he once did. Greater and stronger monsters each time, though not to that great extent the Warrior of Light would needs suffer.On one such hunt, prior to the revolution in Ishgard, Altan was tasked with slaying a dragon. Upon slaying said dragon, his eyes had locked with his, and he had commented upon how Ratatoskr would have loved him still despite the betrayal to his kin.Confused and distraught, Altan began to search for the truth behind his past at any cost.In the interim, Altan provides his lengthy knowledge of beasts of the realm as a service. Mostly, he hunts down beasts that are either invasive to the environment they're in, or have become a biological and safety hazard to its surrounding environment. He may struggle with the average conversation, but ask him about his knowledge on beasts and their behaviors and he'll immediately light up.

ALTAN'S RUNNING WOULD COME TO AN END. As fate would have it, there was reason behind his years of absence. 'Twas to continue as a fated Warrior of Light. Though he initially railed against the role thrust upon him, eventually he had to fall in line.'Twas in the aftermath of the Dragonsong War which his history was revealed unto him. Upon returning Hraesvelgr his eye, did his great uncle give truth to that night those 30-sum years ago. Rather than welcome these news with open arms, Altan recoiled, choosing at first to suppress the following emotions.It would not be until the time of Endwalker that Altan Nir would reclaim his birth name as his surname, now known as Altan Ehsk.

Altan's birth father. A simple farmer and peasant in the small village of Bellfrost, Coerthas. He is long deceased, and is the reason Altan was left with his Xaelan family.

In another life she bore a knight upon her back and they served humanity and dravanians alike. now, in the wake of frene's death and the loss of her sons, she is recluse. she currently resides in the dravanian highlands, hidden away from man and kin alike.
